Happy Fourth of July weekend!

What's more American than cutoff shorts, stripes, and sneakers? Not much. Add a red, white and blue color scheme and you have an outfit just screaming to be worn on the Fourth of July. This tee and jean shorts combo is casual enough for a backyard BBQ but also stylish enough for an afternoon outing. The long sleeves will keep you warm during the fireworks too. Anyone else as big a fan of 4th fireworks as I am?? I am always begging my family to go with me to see them!

I felt a little like Taylor Swift with the red lipgloss and Keds combo going on here. It's funny, people always tell me I look like her, but I don't really think so! However this outfit made me feel like her twin for sure. She really has an All American vibe to her style, complete with abundant stripes and classic styles that are the perfect inspiration for Independence Day outfits. Do you plan your holiday outfits ahead of time like me, or just go with the flow? I like to get festive and really dress for the theme of each holiday, it's just so much more fun that way!

Best 4th In The North

I get to enjoy spending the 4th of July today in the Adirondacks with my family, as I usually try to do. We are going to the fireworks show in Ticonderoga, NY tonight, known to be the "best 4th in the North." They really do put on a great show! I love watching fireworks, they're so thrilling and magical, and it's such a great way to celebrate the 4th and make the day special. 

This pretty little dress has blue, red, and yellow flowers on a white background, so I thought it seemed a fitting choice for a 4th of July barbecue. I bought this dress a few years ago and the very first time I went to wear it the zipper split, which was super sad and it took me forever to getting around to fixing it, but it is finally wearable again and I am so excited that I can wear it this summer! I love the full skirt and the slight sweetheart neckline, and I think it looks so cute with these strappy wedges!

It has been so hot these past few days, I can't seem to do anything without an icy cold lemonade or iced coffee in hand to keep hydrated and help cool me down! I hope you're having a joyful 4th as well! Happy weekend!

Red, White, and Blue

A little inspiration for the 4th of July, which is coming right up on Friday! Can you believe it's July already? I hardly can! I also can hardly believe I have anything red in my closet to work with for this outfit! I do not wear much red, since I tend to gravitate towards blues, pinks, and pastels. I actually have a red and white striped dress that I thought about using but it's more of a fall weather dress and I didn't know what to wear as the blue with it. Anywhoo, there is plenty of blue and white in wardrobe so this outfit came together pretty easily. The color-block styling seemed appropriate for a patriotic holiday, and truth be told I am always looking for ways to wear these bright red pants. The 4th seemed like the perfect excuse!

I am planning to get away for a few days to spend the 4th with my family and watch the fireworks. Do you have any big plans?
